Update: If you missed the event, you can check out the video of the Gatorade Tiger Moonshot Challenge with LaDainian Tomlinson on YouTube.

The Gatorade Tiger Moonshot Challenge is coming to San Diego this Thursday, May 15th. For those you have not seen the Gatorade Tiger TV commercial where Tiger Woods launches a golf drive off the moon, Gatorade has teamed up with golfer Tiger Woods to create the Gatorade Tiger Thirst Quencher.

In conjunction with the Gatorade Tiger TV Commercial, The Gatorade Tiger Moonshot Challenge is visiting a few select cities … New York, Miami, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, and our own favorite city, San Diego.

Head downtown to Seaport Village between 11AM and 6PM on Thursday to participate in the festivities. San Diego Chargers’ star LaDainian Tomlinson is set to make an appearance. For the Challenge, try your luck at beating other people at hitting the longest drive in a golf simulator. Gatorade Tiger will name a male and female winner. The finalists will fly to New York City to compete in the Championship Event in Times Square on June 11th. At that competition, a male and female champion will win the opportunity to create their own “out of this world” experience worth up to $125,000.

On behalf of fans who participate in Gatorade Tiger Moonshot Challenge events, Gatorade Tiger will donate $100,000 to the Tiger Woods Foundation. The Tiger Woods Foundation has reached more than 10 million young people through character development programs, scholarships, grants, and the Tiger Woods Learning Center.

So, head over to Seaport Village to show off your long drive skills and let Gatorade know it was worth making San Diego one of the select cities for their Gatorade Tiger Moonshot Challenge.
