So much for nice weather in the Election Day forecast just a couple days ago. The light drizzle is supposed to clear up by this evening. We'll see.

He did it! Rancho Bernardo's Cole Hamels won the World Series MVP Award! He didn't get credited with a win for the game since the Phillies gave up the lead in the 7th inning (Hamels was taken out in the 6th). But, the Phillies went back ahead to win the World Series and Hamels was named the MVP for his win in Game 1 and his strong performance in Game 5.

If you have not been able to find Ken Kramer's About San Diego lately, it is because it has been moved to Saturday evenings at 6PM to make way for Sunday night football. Last night, Ken's show focused on viewers' favorite segments from previous episodes. If you missed it, go to the About San Diego web site to watch clips from last night's episode.

I should also mention that the San Diego Magazine has an "Insider" page that also shares little tidbits such as celebrity sightings in its monthly publication.

Amazing! The Palomar Observatory Tour with the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center is a must see activity for anyone who likes to look up at the stars. The inside look at the Hale Telescope and the stargazing in this remote wilderness provides an experience you will not forget. You'll be amazed how many stars are above us as you get a clear view of the Milky Way and distant galaxies. You should also check out my latest post about a PBS documentary that is about to air chronicling the impressive scientific achievement of building the Hale Telescope.

Thanks for the recommendation. I like the storyline:

"When the Morning Post writes about the legendary Green Ray's elevating effects on the mind and soul, Helena Campbell vows to experience it for herself, postponing the wedding being forced upon her against her will. Together with her uncles, Sam and Sib Melville, she sets off on what becomes a near-epic quest. Joining them in the search for the Green Ray are two would-be suitors for Helena, one an artist, the other an amateur scientist. Together, this little band will voyage to a distant shore--and beyond--braving hurricanes, testing their patience and resolve, and ultimately finding their own true selves."

I just put a hold on it at the library. For those who want their own copy, here's a link to The Green Ray at Amazon.

Don't be late to the game. The Chihuahua final will take place near the right field fence at the bottom of the 1st inning.

You may also be able to see them through the outfield fence when they warm up in a practice run around 10:30AM.
